Our Philosophy

Perspectives Counseling Services helps to restore people to a state of well-being by treating life threatening behaviors and patterns. Alcohol, drug, and gambling problems are chronic, progressive, and cause great harm to individuals and their families. Untreated, they can result in loss of health, jobs, relationships, finances, self-esteem, dignity, and even lives.

Yet, there is hope, as each is highly responsive to treatment.

At Perspectives Intensive Outpatient Programs, we work with the whole person and provide an integrated approach to help individuals and their families make positive changes, improve their lives, develop the skills necessary to change, and reduce the pain, loss, and destruction caused by alcohol, drugs, and problem gambling.

What is an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)?

An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is designed to treat people with varying degrees of alcohol, drug, and gambling problems, which are sometimes accompanied by other conditions such as depression, chronic pain or another addictive behavior. People attend this program on an outpatient basis so they can continue their daily work and family life, with the least amount of interruption possible. The IOP is planned to assist you to make the necessary changes to live free of alcohol, drug or gambling problems, to increase coping and relationship skills, manage stress, live more effectively and have a happy, healthy and successful future.

An IOP may be right for you if you have tried:

  • To change on your own but haven’t been able to maintain that change
  • One to one counseling, worked with a physician or psychiatrist and still experience problems
  • Sobriety, abstinence, or harm reduction and have had one or more relapses
  • Have an additional mental health or addictive problem

An IOP may also be right for you if you recently went through a detoxification program in a hospital setting or an inpatient or residential program and require ongoing support and structure.
